Living Your Best Life

Live Daily Reading: John10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

What would it take for you to start really, really living your best life now? Over the course of the last year, I’ve picked up several tidbits (1) we spend so much time and sadly waste so much time trying to make others love us. I’ve come to the conclusion that if you don’t love me, it is your loss. I think back to a quote in the movie “The Help”, “You is kind, You is smart, You is important”.  And you and I are every single one of those things (2) If the relationship that you are currently in is not the one you should be in (and you know very well what I am speaking of) get out of it. Wait for who God has ordained for you. Yes, I know that God some-times takes a long time, but it will be so worth it in the end. P/S sidebar… you do know that we still have to reap what we sow…. In other words…if you are sleeping with a married man… God is going to grant you a husband, so somebody can be sleeping with him…. (Whatever we put out we get back). (3) Stop procrastinating. How many times have we said we will do A, whenever B happens? We will travel, when the kids get older, we will open our own business when someone comes into our lives that can help us, and we will open ourselves to love when the right girl or guy comes along. We will go back to school, when the kids get older. We will show our loved ones just how much we love them when we are more financially stable. But what if B never happens? What if we continue to live our lives not really living our lives? What if we continue to be bound by the things that have held us back? Jesus came to set the captives free, and we have been held captive. We have been held captive by other people’s opinions, by our own expectations and by measuring our insides by someone else’s outsides. The enemy came to kill, steal and destroy… We’ve allowed him to kill, steal and destroy too much in our lives, now it’s time to let God refresh, restore and renew our lives.

Prayer of Praise:  Lord, help me to ignore all of the distractions around me and focus on living my best life. Lord, I know that you have so many blessed things planned for me. Help me to wait on your timing and your season. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thought for the day: Today is the first day of the blessed rest of my life.
